Collagen-Induction Therapies
Collagen-Induction Therapies
Limelight Medical Aesthetics offers several treatments that help stimulate collagen. Collagen-induction therapies yield long-lasting results to improve and postpone the aging process.
-
SkinPen® Microneedling
Microneedling is one of the best minimally-invasive treatments you can do to improve your skin quality. Going beyond collagen-induction, microneedling also stimulates elastin and other components of the extracellular matrix, leading to healthier, younger-appearing skin. SkinPen® microneedling is color blind; meaning it is safe for all skin tones.
There is minimal downtime with the procedure, especially when AnteAGE growth factors or exosomes are added. These solutions rapidly improve healing time, while also adding important molecules and chemicals to the skin to further increase the regenerative benefits of microneedling.

Chemical Peels - Perfect Derma Peel and BioRePeel
The Perfect Derma Peel is the only medical-grade peel featuring Glutathione, a master antioxidant that provides unparalleled skin lightening and anti-aging benefits. While BioRePeel offers a "no peel" experience safe for all seasons and skin types, the Perfect Derma Peel delivers a powerful resurfacing effect that visibly transforms stubborn pigment and texture within one week.
BioRePeel is known as the “no peel” peel. It is safe to perform year round, is color-blind, and can be used for skin conditions ranging from active acne, to hyperpigmentation, to fine lines. The base solution of each is composed of TCA, providing a medium-depth peel, penetrating into the papillary dermis to influence metabolically active fibroblasts to produce collagen.

Hyperdilute Radiesse®
Radiesse® is a truly unique solution that, in its package concentration, is used as a filler for jawline, cheeks, and temples. When diluted with saline, the injectable transforms into a regenerative solution that can dramatically improve skin laxity, fine lines, and skin quality. Radiesse® is composed of calcium hydroxyapatite. These microscopic spheres are dispersed under the skin and directly communicate with fibroblasts to produce collagen type I and III, elastin, proteoglycans, and other components of the extracellular matrix. There is no other injectable on the market that has the same regenerative and volumizing benefits as hyperdilute Radiesse®.

EXION™ Radiofrequency
Radiofrequency therapy stimulates collagen and elastin production through targeted warming of the tissue. EXION™ is unique in that it provides two different modalities for delivering radiofrequency energy: fractionated radiofrequency (FRF) microneedling and radiofrequency + targeted ultrasound (TUS). FRF microneedling involves gentle insertion of needles through the skin, with the energy directed at deeper tissues. RF+TUS is topical application of energy that does not involve needles. It not only stimulates collagen and elastin, but also hyaluronic acid production. Both modalities can be used in a single session for faster and more dramatic results. While results can be seen after the 2nd treatment, final results are seen 2-3 months after the final treatment. Unlike SkinPen® microneedling, FRF microneedling can be performed on patients with active acne.

Sculptra®
Sculptra® is an injectable biostimulator that allows your body to replace lost volume and correct dull skin. Everyone can benefit from this revolutionary treatment, as it is tailored to your needs. If you have great volume, the solution can be injected more superficially, specifically targeting skin concerns such as texture, laxity, and clarity. If more volume is needed, the injections are placed deep, onto the bone. Not only is it amazing for the face, but it can be used all over the body! You can improve skin laxity in the neck, over the knees and elbows, and even the buttock and decollete. If you’re wanting a natural, refreshed look, Sculptra® is a great option.

FAQs
Explore our FAQ section for insights on Collagen-Induction Therapies. Contact us directly for any questions not covered here, and we'll be happy to assist.
-
When is the best time of year to do these treatments?
Most collagen-induction therapies can be performed year-round. However, if you’re considering a chemical peel, you might prefer cooler or cloudier months to minimize sun exposure during healing. For our other treatments, we’ll guide you on sun protection for optimal results any time of year.
-
What age should I start these treatments?
Collagen production typically begins to decrease in your mid-to-late 20s. Many clients start preventative treatments in their late 20s or early 30s, but there’s no “wrong” age to begin. Treatments can benefit clients seeking both prevention and correction at any age, and we tailor recommendations to your unique goals.
-
How do I decide which collagen-induction therapy is right for me?
Choosing the best treatment depends on your skin concerns, lifestyle, and goals. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your specific needs—such as acne scars, skin laxity, and fine lines—and recommend the most effective therapies or combinations for you.
-
Can these treatments be combined for better results?
Yes! Combining different collagen-induction therapies can address multiple skin concerns and often enhances overall results. We may recommend a personalized treatment plan that sequences therapies for maximum rejuvenation and safety.
-
How soon will I see results from these therapies?
Initial improvements—like smoother, brighter skin—can often be noticed shortly after treatment, but collagen production continues for weeks to months. Final results develop gradually as your skin renews itself and continues to build new collagen.
-
Are collagen-induction therapies safe for all skin types and tones?
Most of our therapies, including SkinPen® microneedling and BioRePeel, are “color blind” and safe for all skin types. We tailor recommendations and settings to ensure safety and effectiveness for everyone, regardless of skin tone.
-
How much downtime should I expect?
Downtime varies by treatment but is generally minimal with collagen-induction therapies. Some procedures, like microneedling and chemical peels, may cause mild redness or peeling for a day or two, while others require virtually no recovery time.
-
When can I return to my normal skincare routine after treatment?
We usually recommend gentle skincare for the first several days post-treatment. You can typically resume your usual routine after visible redness or sensitivity resolves, but we’ll provide detailed aftercare instructions tailored to your procedure.
-
Are these treatments painful?
Most clients experience only minor discomfort, thanks to the use of topical numbing agents when appropriate. We always prioritize your comfort and can discuss pain management options based on your treatment.
-
Do I need to prep my skin before these treatments?
Some treatments may require you to adjust skincare a few days prior, such as avoiding retinoids or certain acids. We’ll give you clear, easy-to-follow pre-treatment instructions as part of your personalized plan.
